Why we write letters

An opening note

This is Animatter. We are a small group of writers willing to put half-formed thoughts into words and send them to people who are willing to read slowly.

Writing a letter assumes the other person will read it to the end.

We do not publish daily, and we do not chase trends. Every piece deserves a little patience:

1. a concrete question
2. a checkable line of reasoning
3. a conclusion that can be argued with

What we will write about

• Tools and craft: how we work, and why
• Observations and reading: books, essays and models worth sharing
• Unfinished ideas: written down in order to keep thinking

A minimal example

Code can be restrained, too:

export function greet(name: string) {
  return `Hello, ${name}`;
}

Cadence	Format	Length
1–2 per month	Email	~1,000 words

If you like, leave your email at the bottom of the page. We will not sell it, and we will not bother you daily.
